"Learning To Ride" - by C. Twomey • Sold

May 22, 2026 in abstract painting, abstraction, archival oil painting, dressage, horses, equestrian, equine

Painted in 1994, when I was, indeed learning to ride. This oil on panel paints from deep in my soul’s greatest fear - the rearing mount. All those letters? Dressage markers that I was attempting to understand and memorize. Somehow I learned to manage the fear, mainly out of self preservation because the horse could feel everything I was thinking. Have a terrific weekend.
