Original oil, 18 X 24” on RayMar archival board, in progress
Days like today are difficult to match. I hunkered down right in my front yard, amidst the flowers, bees and various critters (including interested neighbors!). Thank goodness for the umbrella! I’ve been waiting for these flowers since spring, and they’ve gained twice their size since last summer. Nothing like a little fertilizer to make for happy plants. I’ll post the final when I’m finished.

“Buck Mountain Vineyard” by C. Twomey
Thank you profusely to the designer who purchased a print from Fine Art America.
A bit of background: Driving along Buck Mountain road as the sun was starting to head down, I pulled off the road as I had to get this sight down. The most stunning view of the day - the vines, the mist in the Blue Ridge mountain valley's, the way the sun blasted the foliage. No wonder I love this place - this landscape view is about five minutes from my house and has brought me great peace and happiness.
Catherine Twomey sold a 23.625" x 30.000" print on DesignerPrints.com! https://designerprints.com/saleannouncement.html?id=64f8db80dc54ae7b2bd21a1f841c8c4c via @fineartamerica
So grateful to the French collector! This piece is from the Manifesto Series. I am deeply moved by natural earth forces, and I started this series with a new approach to applying fluid paint to landscapes. It’s become more entrenched then that, with a look at the primordial forces beneath the mountains, trees and oceans. It’s a consideration of the fact that humans can’t control everything, but that we can affect the earth in a profound way.

So grateful to the collector from Charlottesville, VA for their print purchase of "Liquid Gladiolus." This years crop of glads is just starting to form the flowers, but can't wait until they bloom for more painting sessions!

12 X 12”, acrylic with metallics on gallery wrap canvas.
Getting a good start on a new earth as a part of the Manifesto series. Trying some new flow medium and viscosities. These paintings are so freeing and unpredictable - and that’s a good thing.
Got some beautific blues and silvers lined up for work on a commission. Very excited to get going and recreate the earth. Did I mention I like blues? And the earth?
My piece "Tomales Trail, Point Reyes National Seashore" as featured on the i.d.e.a. Museum's exhibition notice. Thrilled to be a part of the show - it begins June 14 in Mesa, AZ!
