Ah, the French Broad. The vast, quickly flowing broad river runs through the rolling countryside of Olivette, north of Asheville, NC. I was quickly drawn to the large tree with sweeping limbs bending over the river. The contrast between the shadows and the bright sunlit areas was captivating. I spent about five hours there, soaking in the ambiance and happily painting away.
